Stearnsy, How many miles per year are you going to put on the car? If you think you will put more than 12k a year, then perhaps you can fight with Nissan about the warranty. Otherwise, you'll be stressing over the principle for no reason.
I have purchased new cars with dealer-trade miles on them. But usually this is in the order of 50-100. Maybe I missed this in your post, but did the Z they delivered to you get a lot of demo use at the original dealership?
I'd push for a couple of free oil changes for your troubles.
