Here is a secret about the track/public road-it was submitted to the County as a public road to allow a local sales tax option to pay for it...it was designed specifically as an Indy Lights track to allow the group that was pushing for a track to court Nascar with-so while it is a public road, it is also a Nascar approved track with completely modern track design and features- ten transitions, opening curves-don't take my word for it, bring your best tires, a can of your favorite Energy drink, and put it to the test.
Road Atlanta is a great and different track, but no more worthy-This years Porsche Parade, and Ferrari Club of America will be on the island before and after us...do you think these guys would be settling for our "public road" for their yearly conventions If Road Atlanta was really more worthy?
Add to that Savannah was the home of the First, Second, and Third International Races
ever held in the USA-and home of the original World Famous Victory Drive...
