Default Aftermarket GPS

I liked your design so much that I copied it. However, I had some additional considerations - we use the GPS in another car and in a boat. Therefore, I wanted to keep the suction cup mount intact.

I bent a piece of scrap sheet metal in the same shape as yours and then attached the disc that came with the Nuvi 1450 GPS. Then I put some rubber tape on the bracket to keep from scratching the dash.

I did not use a hinge, which is an elegant approach, but it works fine anyway. The mount is solid and doesn't vibrate.

The pictures are shown here in case someone else has similar thoughts.

Thanks,

Rangercarol
