But it does make it nerd-cool, like the LF-A. And in this case, the weight isn't hindering the large beast from being a top-of-the-line performance car, so while weight savings would be a bonus, it is not necessary to make this a desirable performance car. It's already insanely fast.
It could handle better with less weight. It could be faster with less weight. Nissan is compensating for the weight by adding power and wider tires. Why not cut some fat, too?
