You would be drilling out the spot welds that the factory has welded by removing the interior side pillars and head liner, and then tapping the spot welds that are holding the roof to the quarter panels. Then you would probably have to remove the windshield to get those spot welds that fastens the roof to the window frame, and remove the hatch to get to that part of the frame. To have something like this would be costly because you would be spending probably another several hundred dollars having it installed. That’s why IMO its better to go with the overlay because...

+it will look amazing,
+its always reversible,
+its cheaper
+and for those of you who want to reduce weight I would not worry about this adding weight, it will only add on a few lbs.
