You can also run your files through an audio editor and 'normalize' the volume output levels. You'll definitely find the sketchy sources of music tend to be the ones up and down.. obviously if you're ripping your own CD's or getting tracks, they are usually optimized.

But if you find your library is up and down, get familiar with some basic audio editors, and you can fix that issue..
