so someone manages to steal the car by relaying the fob signal...what happens when they need to restart the car later? Do they just have that original signal stored and re-broadcast it?

If so, it seems like an intermediate fix would be to program fobs with rotating coded signals. This may deter some would-be thiefs if they know they can only start the car once. But maybe they wouldnt care if they are just taking it to a chop shop.
