Forever? No. Many clubs inspect your helmet, and as most of the helmets being sold right now are SA2005 they are going to expire in 2015.

Good helmets, strong and fairly cheap. It's a little heavier than the more expensive brands but not really noticeable. Generally test just as well as the expensive brands.
