Regardless, lets figure out an alternative we can default to. That would leave us with Malibu as there is a ton of frost and ice up in GMR last I went. Please chime in guys, I am only throwing out places I know of.

Frankly that is just as bad as shooting one in the foot and the CHP who roll back there are zero tolerance on speed, just saying if anyone where to have a serious medical issues or incident you would have to get back into rose valley / drive back down to Ojai nearest cell phone reception/ ranger station near lockwood valley rd.
Another thing is once the roads are dry, they are really not since you will have loads of grit/dust/gravel on the road from when the snow melted.
As I mentioned before if you are running any after market items and worried about snow car status this isn't the route for you, one of my drivers who has a F430 has had to repaint his Ferrari from hitting the roads back there so much, and in my daily driver my front windshield is pitted from all of the dust on the road back there. Other then that if you dont mind its a lot of cleaning you will be doing once yo finish up.
from LA to the base is 97 miles -
1st part of the route 70 miles
you will need to refuel in Frazier park
Second part is 40 miles
3rd part is 65 mils
and back to LA depending where you live its another 97 miles.

I was followed by a CHP on the way up 33 and wasn't planning to do anything stupid but a motor cycle rider coming down nearly took both of us out while going up. even with the proper equipment the med vac took about 40-min to show up.
Running an oil cooler is good but with really cold weather there are a lot of things to be careful of.

I think most of the canyons (between those that get ice, or mudslides / rockslides / potholes / runnoff) are going to stay touch and go through Feb.

speaking of rocks, once in a while on there you will see that someone nailed a really large rock and I cant figure out why people keep driving once they have hit the rock, and down the road you can see where the car has shut off or the engine has just seized.

Anyone know of any lower elevation twisty roads in the area? Or maybe a kick *** spot for an impromptu Z show and a big group of amigos to get some grub in Santa Barbara?

US-101 N to N Turnpike Rd - Google Maps
DO NOT SPEED on 154. there's speed traps up and down that place.
if this ride is going to be canceled/postponed, please let us know ASAP. 3-day weekend means I can probably make alternate plans and get out of town on a little getaway. Yeah right, after the holidays and oil cooler purchase,[/QUOTE]
