Correct the HP numbers don't mean much, you're making peak HP for the blink of an eye in real driving. What does matter is the area under the curve for the RPM band that you plan on using. If you bolt something on that only increases power at 7000rpm and up sure it will show up on the dyno sheet as a power gain but it won't do much for you on the track.

I think it would be interesting to real world test the effect of each part individually but unfortunately given the wide variety of variables and changing conditions it isn't really possible or practical. So the best you can practically do is use a good load corrected dyno such as a Mustang or Dyno Dynamics and look at the power curve as a whole rather than just the peak number.
