Would you be ok if your company's name was associated with a crime? Used as an escape car to impede a subsequent investigation? Would you be ok with the
PR hit, lawsuits, and loss of business that would surely follow?
Who knows? Maybe Mr. K doesn't fire this guy until it's proven in a court of law. Maybe he says, "Mt Tam, you're full of sh**, my guy wouldn't do that?" Or maybe it was a hollow bluff. Point is, dropping that name worked in preventing a crime.
