We have to start a HATE group to convince other people not to buy our colors.
Here's a short story on car colors. When we got my wife her previous TL in 05, we (umm, "I") had picked out a gold color called Desert Mist. She was hesitant, but going along. So when we got home that night, I scanned the forum acurazine.com to see what colors other people were picking up. Turned out less than 2% were going with that gold -- everyone (24%+) that year was buying Anthracite (dark grey). I told her, --- she changed the order. So we saw lots of "identical" 3rd gen TLs on the road, but it helped a little at trade-in time. (And then, a month ago, she picked a dark "Royal Blue" for her 4th gen, a color which has all the cleaning problems of black, and this time we don't care how many others we see on the road.
)
So if you're going to hold the car a long time, try to get an exclusive color combination. If you'll be selling, get the "popular" color. I doubt this particular pearl & persimmon will be traded before the 380 Z comes out.
