In other words, it's not like a GT3, for example. Though not as good a daily driver, that car has a nice amount of character. Even driving it slowly, you can appreciate the car's purposeful controls (all have nice weighting), its special sound, solid feel, etc. It's a much more unique experience.
To tell you the truth, if I were in the market for another Corvette, I would probably get a GS. It would feel nearly the same as the Z06 driving it around town, it's plenty quick and it has the targa top.

I heard that 2008+ got much better steering, are you talking about your experience with a pre '08 Z, or the improved 08+?
Also heard about the clutch. There is a spring you can remove/replace which makes it a lot more involving. About 5 minutes of your time.
I would love the GS EXCEPT for the targa top. I am not into removable roofs. That is the only reason (besides the cheap-looking rims that look like GM got some chinese company to copy the 370Z's.) that I would not buy one.
