Who cares about a dealership? It's what Nissan corporate says. That dealership submits their warranty work to Nissan to get reimbursed for it. If Nissan says "no", that's all that matters. An engine is definitely not a dealership-level item. It goes all the way to corporate.

Check your warranty. It says nothing about Bubba's Autoplex. It says "Nissan".

A CAI will still void most of your driveline warranty.

I can make an argument for a CAI destroying ANYTHING in the driveline. Valves? Lean mixture. Clutch? Extra power. Transmission? Extra power. Rear-end? Same thing. Main-bearings? Reduced filtration of non OEM air-filter allowed more grit in (actually, K&N does, which is why I won't run those type filters). Etc. But the whole point is, you voided the warranty contract and so they don't have to explain it.
