The radio frequency regulations in Canada are different than the U.S. Therefore, according to the owner's manual, I had to cycle my hand held door opener by pressing/releasing the button every one or two seconds until the door opener unit began flashing it's light confirming acceptance of the code. It only took a few seconds for it to work. This was the only difference in programming than the U.S. method. My door opener is a 2001 or 2002 Sears unit.
