Default Need advise/help!!

Hello all,

back in august of this year i was involved in an accident. the claim i believe is finally settled in my favor so the other insurance company is liable 100%. It did take 4 months to get this resolved because it went through arbitration.

I am on the phone with the progressive (other party's insurance) right now to file a diminished value claim and he is stating that i would need to get with a licensed diminished value appraiser to come appraise my car to show proof that my car has diminished value due to the accident caused in august.

I thought the insurance company provided their own agent to come out and appraise the car?

Hiring someone to come out to appraise my car would cost me 350 to 400 bucks.

Anyone know if this is true? I don't want to have them appraise it and in return i end up getting nothing back, ill be short 350 to 400 bucks.

Ive done some research here and i see some of you had already received your check, did you guys do the same and hire an appraiser to come give you the value of your car?

Any information would be great! thanks!
