Based on the post you linked, I don't see where color or trim or transmission are coded.

JayYoon - some dealers don't list the info online, but give VINs. I don't want to call or chat online if I can find out if a dealer has the Z I'm looking for by reading the VIN or another ID. I'd like to buy, but i want to be ready and offer a price based on a particular vehicle. Also, I've always been curious if the VINs have any meaning or they are just random numbers.
