A CAI will change air-fuel ratio. This can change how warm/cool an engine runs. It adds more power. That means ANYTHING in the driveline that fails, can TECHNICALLY be traced to the CAI. Blew your rear end? Well that 20whp more may have done it. Care to prove otherwise? Can't. You lose.

Of course, this also depends on not only Nissan corp. but your dealership and how far they are willing to stick their neck out for you.

But as we all know a CAI alone on the 370 will not affect the AFR enough to cause any damage to the engine. This is why cars are so advanced today. They have these things called "computers" ever hear of them? They make lots of little magical adjustments to protect the engine from improper AFR. As for the added HP breaking something in the drivetrain it would be very hard fro Nissan or any other Car Company to (A) Prove the part you installed even added power. And (B) Figure out a way that the extra power directly caused the faliure. Dont get me wrong there gonna BS there way out of paying for the damage but you will win if you fight them especially if its something like a blown rear, engine, etc.
