The only real differences I found from personal use and research testing online is that the V1 has the greatest range of basically any detector. The 9500ix does show superior accuracy though and learns at a great rate at areas that are not needed to signal you.

I'll hold fast and say that V1 is great and very effective but for a cut of about $200, worth every penny.

I currently use a 9500ix and it is my 6th detector purchased from Escort over the past 23 years (used to be called Cincinnati Microwave). Maybe because I tend to be brand-loyal, but none of the Escort products have ever failed me.

A particularly nice feature (besides great detection capability) of the 9500ix is its learning capability. All of those random alerts from grocery stores, etc. are all ignored. The only downside is the woman's voice that announces an alert. She is loud and sometimes scares the cr*p out of me (figuratively).
