Since I am not riding with you, I don't know what exactly is giving you problems getting started, but with most people they want to let out the clutch really quickly and get going. You want to get to the engagement point and hold it there until the RPMs start rising again. Once they start to rise, let off the clutch and go.
Its really not too difficult, but requires practice to get to the engagement spot quickly and making sure you hold the clutch at the engagement point even if you are rolling backwards for a second
