The knob itself is an NRG Carbon Fiber Universal shift knob from Amazon (SK-300BC). It's a screw on knob that includes a set of 3 plastic inserts that can be used to put it together. It costs $40-$50 depending upon where you get it, and it's not real heavy.
But you're right, it's a ball type shift knob, which by itself doesn't look good.
I added a "shift knob base cover" from ZeeToyz (about $20), but it rattled.
So I added a "shaft collar" from my local Ace Hardware store ($2.50) above it, and now I like the way it looks.
