Same thing kinda....Cut springs get stiffer!

I've put Eibachs over stock shocks twice. Once on a 20K mile 993 Porsche, and once on a 7K mile Miata. Neither of those 2 set-ups came out the way I liked. I should have learned my lesson the first time. Not enough shock control when compressed into the stiff area which is usually when you're tossing the car around and really need the damping. Stock shocks are valved to control the lower rate (stock) springs. I've put them over Bilsteins many a time with very good results. I am extrememly sensitive to suspension and shock control though. YMMV, just my experience talking FWIW...
