Clean it after EVERY wash, and make sure to follow the same guidelines that you'd follow when waxing (never dry it in circles, just lightly pull it over the paint in the proper directions - in line with the car for the horizontal parts such as the hood/roof/hatch, and vertically for the other parts like the doors, fenders and quarters). The only scratches on my car are the convenient dealership-installed ones from their shitty *** detailers...
