Taking the inside door paneling is pretty easy. Next to the inside door handle (on top near mirror), pop out the triangular looking plastic piece, there will be one bolt under that. Under the door handle (middle of the door) right above the map pocket, there is a plastic piece, pop that out, and there are two bolts there. Pop out the piece that holds all the window/door lock switches, disconnect it. Then just pull the entire inside of the door off, it's on clips, supper easy to do, grab at the corner near the rear view mirrors and just pull the entire thing off, should come off right away. Having done it a few times, I can probably take the door apart in like 2 minutes now.

Problem is that the sound is coming from inside the door, between the outer and inner metal shells of the door (and not so much/at all) from the inside door trim. You could take the inside shell off, but that seems like a pain, because then you also have to unmount the power window motor.
