Negative camber (// \\) in the rear actually improves stability during a turn as it does allow for a bigger and more even (from inside and outside) contact patch on the tire's surface. This results in better grip and allows for greater lateral forces to be applied before lateral slip (rear end slipping) and over-rotation occurs.
