Depends on what you want to do with your bike, or what you want the bike to do for you.
The Monster is a great naked streetfighter sort of bike whereas the R6 is a great cornering machine for canyons and trackdays/racing. I found the R6's light weight and cornering abilities allowed me to make up time on the liter bikes in corners by carrying more speed into the entry and through the apex.
