Yes I still have the Takeda AFE Filters and the Intake tubes so basically I can go back to a SRI from the Stock Box + Intake Tube setup. Cruising on the highway is not that bad about +12F over ambient and responsive as hell. Its traffic, slow driving, and summer heat that kills the SRI. It’s usually +15-20F over ambient when driving below 40mph (slow traffic).

But what is interesting is how quickly the temps drop when you hammer it from a stop light. I have seen it go from 130F IAT to 75F on a 60F day by the time I hit 80mph. Basically hammering it will vacuum (suck) out the hot air that has been sitting in the engine bay then as the car moves faster fresh air starts flow through the engine bay and baths the filters with cooler air.

Tonight is Track night for me. I have the SRI setup right now and am hoping to run high 12s with the new M370 Manifold. I want to see how a SRI does at the track I am still on the fence on which intake setup makes my Z faster. Next Wednesday I am going back to try the Stock Box + Intake Tube setup to compare.
