If I recall correctly, 20mm or less thickness leaves too much stock lug sticking out through the spacer. The front stock rims don't have cutouts/clearance for the protruding studs. If you go bigger than 20mm, the stock studs are fully recessed. People have gotten 20mm to work by either grinding the stock studs or the backs of the rims. (I don't recommend screwing up your stock studs or rims just for some spacers). They MAY work with aftermarket rims, though that will be a case by case situation. Most people on the forum just use stud replacement spacers for the front. Your 20mm bolt-ons will work just fine for the rear and IMHO are the ideal size for back there.
