the AT's might be faster on paper, i dont know and dont care, but why not learn to drive MT and not halfarse yourselves? it's one thing to be able to drive MT and yet choose AT vs not being able to drive MT and settling on a AT.
if you're going to settle on a car just get a toyataha

Two things:
1) One of the major auto magazines (Motor Trend, IIRC) timed the AT and the MT and the AT did in fact turn out to be slightly faster (00-60 time, again IIRC).
2) The idea that anyone is "settling on" an AT is pure
. Just because
you prefer an MT doesn't mean that anyone else is "settling" for a 7AT or that they are "halfarsing" themselves. I bought the 7AT because I prefer it for what I'm using the car for. And I definitely know how to drive an MT (damn near 40 years experience, I currently drive my modded '72 Corvette with a 383 when I feel like driving an MT). Your generalizations are pretty moronic.
