I've always preferred Metra when I was installing. I think the only Scosche kit I've used is for the old Taurus with the bubble dash. Damn that thing was ugly.

What you should find is a trim ring for a Double DIN radio. Something like 1/4" of trim around the whole face of the radio. I'll do a little research..

Looks like the kit (Metra in this case) actually does a good job. Didn't read your whole question initially lol.
