Update:
As a quick fix the next morning after my post I spaced the cross member down about 5mm to stop the rattle.
Since then I have been driving with non resonated test pipes and the exhaust, and WOW, on acceleration it is very aggressive, ie pretty loud! Too loud for my taste for a daily driver, even a weekend car. One thing that impressed me though is the muffler itself. When you accelerate it screams, but when cruising, over 2500 rpm it is nice and quiet, near stock quiet. Below 2500 rpm while cruising it drones just barely.
Keep in mind that the test pipes were the main contributing factor to the volume. I finally had time yesterday to install the cats and adjust the exhaust to clear the crossmember correctly.
On a stock Nismo, only mod being the exhaust, the volume now is near stock.
I didn't dyno because I got too excited. Once I had the box, I was doing the install.

One problem the exhaust seems to be hitting the cross member on the passenger side, just like the guy in the previous pages. I was worried about the gap between the x-pipe and the cross member when I put it together, but it didn't come to close, after about a 40 minute drive, it rubs under decel and idiling.
I suppose I need to get back underneath and try to use a jack raise the x pipe.
I will let you guys know how it goes.
