Hey guys!
This weekend I was able to give my new 370 is good wash, polish and wax. Wash was done with the 2BM using Meg's Gold Class and a grout sponge. I clayed the car using ONR as lube and Meg's white clay. The car is only a couple months old and was in good condition when it left the dealer so it only received a 1 step polish of SIP on a white pad via the PC. I will give it a correct and thorough polish in the spring time. The main goal of this weekend was to thoroughly clean the paint and get it ready for wax. Surprisingly, I would say I achieved about 90% with the combination I used.
The LSP of choice is a Beta wax by Migliore which is to be put above their Competizone wax. It contains nearly 50% pure carnauba. The key with most waxes of any kind is to apply it thin; this wax is no different. The wax itself I felt was a bit on the hard side. I feel this made it easier to apply it thin and even because you couldn't get too much on your pad at once. Once I started applying it, it went on the car very easily. I let it cure for about 25 minutes before removing. Removal was easier than any wax or sealant I've ever used. There was no smearing like some waxes, instead a simple swipe removed the wax. The wax left a very wet look to the paint and provided a very soft and smooth feel. As others have stated before, it really feels like something is actually on your paint and protecting it with Migliore, and this wax is no different. I pulled it out into the sun this afternoon right around 12:30 to see what kind of sweating I would get with a carnauba content this high, and to my surprise, it was very minimal, to the point that it was able to be removed without a QD.
Overall, compared to other waxes/sealants (AG HD, Natty's Blue and Red, Dodo Juice, BF WD, WGDGPS), I would put this wax at the top of my list as far as looks and ease of application and removal. Durability is yet to be tested which I will need to follow up with in a few weeks and after a couple washes.
Oh yes, it has a great citrus smell to it I found which was pleasant to work with.
Here are a few pictures that I snapped. Not sure why the sun shots came out blurry though. If I left something out or you guys have a question you would like answered, please let me know!
