Wow- I just got done driving a 2009 Corvette Z06 until I was happy
(7.0L 505 hp V8, Horsepower 505 @ 6300 RPM, Torque (lb-ft) 470 @
4800 RPM). I drove from a dead start from stop, freeway- you name it
(with traction control off), and man did it feel slower than our 370Z!
And I'm not kidding. With all the extra torque under the hood (470 @
4800 RPM) it did not feel snappy at all. Part of it may be that it's rear
axle ratio is 3.42 (geared for top end) and our final drive ratio is 3.69
(more low-end by comparison), but come on it's a 470 lb-ft torque
Corvette that's listed at 3180 lbs! However, I did notice when I looked
down at the speedometer it said 50, but it felt like 35; so I know it's fast,
just didn't feel like it.
Totally surprised. Was fun to drive, but our 370 feels/felt so much faster.
Shocked, but actually kinda happy
