In the end, they are two different cars, though. When Nissan puts a 400+hp engine in their car, then they can come back and try again with the comparo, until then, the GT is a ringer for the M3, just with a lot less refinement.

"If we were going all out on a racetrack, we'd likely pick the lighter, more sophisticated Z."
Now I am not saying that is the right choice or a 'better' choice, but the article does clearly lean towards the idea that the Z in
their minds is a better choice for those at the track,
as the car stands in the article.
