1) Yes this is true, however once you get accustomed to the difference you wouldn't even know any better. The VQ aftermarket flywheels aren't as light as other car makes so it won't be as dramatic.
2) Not necessarily. Alot of it will depend on the friction material (clutch disc) you have and pressure plate release.
