Just got back from Portland International Raceway:
2009 370Z Sport Package
7 speed auto
Bald OEM Bridgestone Tires
1/2 tank of gas
Fast Intentions Catback
No other mods of any kind
13.08 @ 106.43
Backed it up with a 13.09
Temp = 64 deg.
Elevation = about 30 feet
Hard to launch without lots of wheelspin.
I was thinking the bald tires would act like slicks, but wrong-o, they spun bad into 3rd gear on two runs (not the runs mentioned above). I never could get close to full throttle in first gear. I one foot drove the car. I used my right foot on the brake and stepped over to the gas, rather than 2 foot driving, when you have your left on the brake and right on the gas. Traction control off, manual mode active and paddle shifters used. I feel totally confident that less gas in the tank/better tires (slicks, or at least some tread)/better driver (one who isn't making payments on the car!) could get one to run high 12's. I'm quite sure. I can't recommend lowering tire pressure. It didn't seem to help me, it did set off the TPMS light, and might even have interacted with the ECU to reduce power. Hope this helps.
