I was asked by my peers to start a build thread in order to avoid any problems with my design ideas being used by others if it does occur, so here it goes.
Plan: Build a non-widebody 370Z that looks like a widebody. Design and build a body kit with minimal damage to non-replaceable parts to avoid loss of resale value, yet creating something that would catch the attention of others as being unique. See if available aftermarket parts can be used and improved.
Problem: How is that possible? Aftermarket parts did not meet the design criteria. Like using oem parts, but they are expensive. Time is an issue, since I will be doing all the work myself.
Solution: Perspectives! The whole point of making something look wider is to shorten it's height. With the help of
ray from The NISMO Shop of West Covina, I was able to acquire OEM parts at a discounted price. Everything else had to be build from scratch.
I will update with pictures soon, but I'm still in the process of wrapping the car, so things will happen fast, but should be worth the wait...
