Probably pretty close to it, I think I have my shift light set at 6800 rpm, so by the time I respond, probably hitting 7000-7200 rpm.
Only reason I think a short shifter may help is that when I go from first to second, if my arm is not on the center counsel, my elbow will make contact with the seat back. That plus the lightweight Nismo knob, I'm sure is contributing to me having to really use a lot of force to make sure it goes in gear and not mis-shift.
