Product Description...

UNDERDRIVE - STOCK BELT LAYOUT

These crank pulleys increase performance by reducing the engines spinning weight and also because they underdrive all the accessories (a/c, alternator, p/s & w/p). We are very careful not to overdue the amount of underdrive for two main reasons. First, it is important to keep the alternator, air conditioning, power steering, and water pumps moving fast enough for every day driving. Second, not much horsepower is gained from extreme underdriving. We always keep our underdrive percentage under 20% allowing us to maintain factory specified outputs for the accessories. This care in design allows you to upgrade your stereo to a system of up to 600 watts (RMS) and not have any charging problems. The underdriving is done at the crank pulley, not the accessory pulleys. We do this to maximize the weight loss at the crank where most of the horsepower gains are realized. The underdrive version gives you 10-15% more power than the stock diameter version. Any of our accessory pulleys can be used in any combination with our underdrive pulleys or purchased as a pulley set.

UNDERDRIVE - SINGLE BELT CONVERSION

Single-belt conversions take weight reduction to the next level giving you the biggest power gains. These are a must for Honda B & H Series engine swaps because of motor to frame clearance with the stock crank pulley. The single belt design only drives the alternator on B-Series and the alternator & A/C on H-Series. So if you want to maximize your engines weight loss single-belt crank pulley are your first and only choice. Any of our alternator pulleys can be used with single belt conversion.

STOCK DIAMETER - STOCK BELT LAYOUT

Many customers have asked for a crank pulley without underdrive. They want to keep the stock speed for their alternators, power steering pumps, superchargers and water pumps. UR developed this version because the performance benefits of weight reduction outweigh the need for underdrive, especially for audio enthusiasts as some audio competitions require voltage to remain at a specific level. Stock diameter is also important for factory or aftermarket superchargers. These superchargers need the stock diameter to keep the same boost you had with the factory crank pulley. The reduced weight allows more power transfer to the drive wheels.
