The clutch has overheated and is slipping (badly).

When you ease off the gas, and match engine speed to road speed, the clutch "bites" and transmits power to the rear wheels.

The Nissan clutch is not engineered to handle multiple "hard launches", it is a "raod-clutch" and not a race clutch - indeed, if you can "smell" it, it is clear that the clutch has overheated .... mind you, it seems from your description that if you let it cool down, it works OK, so the real issue is how to avoid overheating it in the first place ... I think you need to reconsider what you are actually asking the clutch to do ...
