No. It uses your OBDII port. How it works is you hook it up to power through any where that comes on in ACC. Connect the box to your ODBII port and then connect it to the aux inputs that are in your center console. After that just need to calibrate and switch your nav screen over to aux that way you can view it. The only thing I am not sure about that maybe others know is what wire you have to put into ground, since once you put the car in gear and start moving all Aux inputs will get cut out for safety reasons. Just like how you can't enter info in to the navi while driving. It is really simple to hook up. But from my research the Blitz one is a better buy then the HKS camp II so you might want to look into that. it's only a few more bucks and has alot more features built in that the HKS would require additional purchase of sensors for.
