Update: Just got back from the dealership. I was able to replicate the pedal and engine rev problem as I described above. The dealer offered me a loaner car pronto after I said it looks like the car has Toyota syndrome. I literally got the car to stay at 3000 RPMs without touching the pedal in front of 2 service-intake personel. My z should be ready Monday due to customer backlog; unfortunately I'll be out of town until Thursday and will not be able to test anything fixed until then.
I'll update this thread with my/their findings when I hear about them.
