Default install oil cooler?

I am getting a new short block due to oil consumption. Yesterday was the first 80+ degree day of the summer. My oil temp went from 225* to 260* in a mile and a half of a very spirited up hill drive. Note avatar.

I had already ordered my oil cooler from Nissan when they had me do an oil consumption test first, which I failed.

QUESTION: Should I have them install oil cooler when they replace short block or wait and see if new engine runs cooler?

My driving habits are different from many. I rarely get on the freeway so 4th gear is an unusual gear for me to be in. Most all driving is done going up and down a winding mountain road. Up hill runs the temp up quickly.
