By your argument, I'd be taking the wheels off the car each time I park it and leaving them next to it for somebody to steal. That is an open door for a thief, simply not having pointless, easily circumvented wheel locks is not.

haha no, his statement was VERY accurate. YOUR argument of taking the wheels off and leaving them for someone to steal would be like taking all your TVs, art work, and jewlery out of your house and setting it on the sidewalk for people to take.
Not locking your wheels = not locking your doors.
