Sportmaxx changed their name to XXR.
IMHO, I believe you get what you pay for. And what you get usually works for what you are doing. I'm not saying knockoffs are bad or those who get them should be looked down upon. I have a pair of Konig Rewinds (knockoff Watanabes) on my 97 Miata. I wasn't about to pay over half the value of my Miata on wheels. That being said, I'm not planning on racing on those wheels. And if I did, I wouldn't be surprised if something happened. Not saying they would. Anything could happen. Of course I'd feel much safer with a set of Work's or SSR's. I am no expert on wheels. I don't know what goes into making a set of wheels.
When it comes down to it, I say get what you feel comfortable with. There is no point in getting a set of wheels that you can't afford.
I know some of you don't agree with what I said but this is just my opinion.
Thanks for listening...errr...reading.
I agree with Chris, putting the "real" center caps on knockoff wheels is really screwed up. Just keep the center caps off.
