I've test driven both the 370Z and 2011 Mustang GT Coupe Premium (HID, gears, security, Brembo). The only area where the Z may have an edge is a tight track similar to an autocross. The areas where the Mustang wins out is value/pricing, braking, acceleration, mod potential/bang for the buck gains, practicality (more storage space).

The 370Z wins on handling (better slalom and shidpad numbers), braking is so close given the differnt tests I'd have to call it even (some have the stang with better numbers, some have the Z), and better road feel. The 'stang is certainly more upgradable, but that's not comparing the two cars directly. If you give the 370Z the same power to match the 'stang's speed (about 370 to 380 hp), it's the better
sports car. Don't get me wrong, I love stangs having owned 2, but if you drop the power advantage, it comes up shy of the 370Z. This is why Nissan should focus all their efforts on power in the next upgrade, they've got great numbers everywhere else.
