They should be triggering the test and using a sniffer to see if it's actually leaking in the system. If it's not they should then be looking at other components of the system. Obviously it's not the cap or the neck they already replaced those. They are probably doing it to rule out you tampering with it as mentioned before.
I once had a car that was setting an evap code and the vacuum hose leading into the canister had a small pin sized hole in it.

good advice. i asked and was told today they already preformed the test that involves putting smoke in the system and it showed no leaks or signs of the smoke whatever that means. iv'e got documentations of four visit's to the dealership the next time it comes on and it will i am contacting nissan.
i'm giving them one chance to fix it then its lemon law time.i've already got all the papers ready to fill out
