well sure enough there is a small ring on the end of the cat, it looked like part of the cat flange in shape and color and didn't just slide off easily so we didn't think anything of it and that is why I called Stillen to question about no gaskets. This morning I yelled it across the shop at the tech to stay out of arms reach to be safe when I told him he had to take the cats back out
