After getting help in translating the manuals since they were in Japanese and harness pin functions the Nissan dealership tech figured out the pin functions he was provided by japanparts were almost completely backwards. So he made his own harness but still could not get the unit to display a picture.
This is a very simple explanation but I don't see the need to go into all the details of what was tried, all the tech assistance provided from the Nissan North American tech line to the dealership tech., help from the Infinity techs., etc. |
Here is the bottom line is...............Don't buy this kit. It will not work. The wiring harness does not match the pins on the back of the Nav. BTW any parts sold by japanparts.com do not have a money back guarantee if used on 370Z's made for the American market. This is clearly stated on their web site. I took a chance and lost some bucks.
but the challenge is part of the fun.
Hopefully the announced August release by Nissan of that backup cam using the review mirror will become reality.
