its very important. its how you avoid accidents that are caused by other people. it doesn't matter who's fault it is if you get killed, because you are dead and nothing can change that. Being aware and able to react to what other drivers are doing can save your life, and the lives of others. Its about seeing that someone is about to change lanes into you, or waiting a moment to make sure no one is going to run the red light. Yes, you can go on green, but that doesn't mean some idiot isn't going to run the red light and smash into your side and kill you. If more people were defensive drivers, you wouldn't have so many accidents. You would have idiots texting and talking on phones because those people would be concerned about avoiding accidents. Instead, we have to watch out for the idiots who rely on everyone else's driving to be safe
